3d mechanism is fine for standard devices but provides odd looking results for devices such as horizontal TO220 packages or connectors. Even more unrealistic if such a device is mounted on a heatsink. Could we have a mechanism to put our own images or sketches on the outline?
That's quite a tall order given the complexities of 3D. We haven't got there yet, but V15 will be introducing some more primitives to increase the flexibility.
