I have discovered that filled copper shapes do not plot. Areas of copper pour do.

But if I draw a copper pour outline that has no pads from other nets inside, pour copper does not work.

Is there any work-around for this? Or shall I just create an area with lots of overlapping tracks?

Any suggestions gladly received!

I am using version 16.0.8

John, I can't remember experiencing this problem when I was using previous versions of EPC.

It's probably something to do with your Spacings or Rules within Settings =>Design Tech. EPC will "remove" unconnected pour areas because that's what the settings tell it to do (i.e. its not connected to a net, too small an area, etc etc).

This feature is now updated in V18 so I cannot go back & try an example for you.

Loads of overlapping tracks is NOT the way to go!

Exactly.

But, thanks to Peter Johnson at Number One Technical Support the problem is SOLVED.

Turns out I was trying to fill a copper pour outline instead of a "shape" outline.

Needed to right-click on the outline and "Change Shape Type" to "shape". Then Properties, filled. Now no longer on a net but is plotted. Which was all I wanted really.

I always check my gerbers with ViewMate before sending to manufacture. Good thing I did!

So with that success, I have ordered my V18 upgrade.

Thanks, all.
