I have just laid out a new board (using the latest 18.0.3 patch) and the plot when viewed on Gerbv shows the drill file all bunched up in the bottom left-hand corner of the board. Gerbv works fine with all my previous boards so the problem isn't there.

After installing the patch, I had to set the Gerber plotting options to 2.5 again as they had reverted to 2.3 (which Number One told us last year was a problem and shouldn't be used). Is there something else I might have missed which would cause the wrong plot settings for the drill file?

Also, why do the Gerber settings keep reverting to 2.3 when Number One clearly stated last year that only 2.5 should be used?

HI John,

My Gerber PLOT settings remained at 3-5 (mm) when I upgraded.
Sorry can't help with Gerbv.

Hi John,

Like Ed .... after updating my gerber option stays at 2.5 which is where I set it previously.

Also just done 2 layouts and looking at the gerber outputs in GC-Prevue all looks good. However using FAB3000 I note "pads" for each layer sitting on top of each other at the 0,0 origin (well away from board outline) but these would normally be ignored by manufacturing. However they also exist in pre V18 gerbers so I doubt its anything to do with EasyPC .... more FAB3000.
I would try GC_prevue if I was you

Hi Iain,

Thanks. I just tried the free version of GerberLogix and everything looks right. I'll download GcPrevue (which I've used before) and see how it looks there.

I just hate having to bring up a new computer and reinstall everything that was on the old one! This one is Windoze 8.1 and the last one which finally died a few weeks ago was Vista. I've also had to buy a new printer as the old Lexmark one isn't supported on 8.1.

It's probably cause you have done a fresh instal that the precision went back to 2.3 .... I think that is still the default. Once you change it to 2.5 or whatever it will stay at that after upgrades.
I had major probs moving from XP to Win7 .... No direct upgrade route so bought a new computer an laboriously re-installed everything .... What I nightmare.
I know what you are going through !
