I transferred EasyPC from a Win XP machine to a Win 7 one. I followed the instructions in the Moving EasyPC page. All seemed OK.
I need to create a PCB from an old schematic which didn't have a corresponding PCB. In the schematic editor and library manager all seems to be working perfectly, I can modify old components from my library, create new ones and design 3D packages, but when I try to translate the schematic to PCB, it throws up a page of errors. See below.

Could not load component "Resistor" package "DSC 4" into target design.
Could not add "R1" component "Resistor" package "DSC 4" to target design.
Could not load component "Gnd" package "MISC" into target design.
Could not add "V12" component "Gnd" package "MISC" to target design.
Could not add "V33" component "Gnd" package "MISC" to target design.
Could not add "V34" component "Gnd" package "MISC" to target design.
Could not add "R2" component "Resistor" package "DSC 4" to target design.
...and so on

The only other clue I have is that when I try to update components in the schematic editor, I get this error message:
"Error accessing some symbols or components from the library. Either cannot find them or error reading them. View the report for more details."

I can't find any report file for this.

EasyPC is telling me it can't read components from the library, yet I have been reading components from the library for days. What's going on?

I fixed it! The issue was that some of the components in the schematic had package names that were not in the library.

The solution was to edit each of the problem components in the schematic and change the package to one of those that are in the list in the library.
