Is there any particular reason that the case in a net name is ignored ?. For example say you have a 2 page project and on page 1 is a net called DR_data and on page 2 a net called dr_data, however as far as the project is concerned these two nets are one and the same and willl be connected in the PCB.
Should it not be that the case in a net name should be part of its exclusive identity ?

This is also a problem when trying to re-name a net called Dr_data to DR_data to make the schematic look consistent. You have to rename it something completely different, i.e. DDR_data and then re-name it again to DR_data. |

Ed, You can also delete the net completely (and the net name from the sheet) and then add the net again with the new name.

That is a side-effect of the controls trying to be too helpful in preselecting the best fit answer.
As for the original question about case sensitivity, you could make a case (sorry, couldn't resist!) for making the comparison case sensitive, but we took the decision at the beginning that we would not do that. We have come across enough third-party software in the past that treats them the same regardless of case, that we could foresee potential problems coming out of the woodwork at some point along the design process.
That's not to say this couldn't be changed to make it an option you can set, but this would require some careful code changes to ensure this is handled properly right across the package, and I'm not sure you would think it worth the amount of effort that could perhaps be better spent elsewhere.
David.

Hi David,
Probably left alone I think .... I only raised the issue just in case this might be a bug, or a feature that had been mis-understood.
