Hi,

I have just upgrade to EasyPC version 16.
When I try to double click my old project file from windows explorer,
the following error message pops up.
"There was a problem sending the command to the program."
but it didn't exactly say what it the problem.

When I open the same project file, from the EasyPC program,
it was ok.

May I know what is the problem?
Thank you.

Best Regards

There was another message hidding in the background,
"No valid serial number found, software may not be correctly installed. Continuing in 'read only' mode"

I think this was the real reason behind the problem.

This forum also got problem.
When I am writing this message,
I forgot to enter in my username and password, when I click on the button "Post New Reply".
The forum lead me back to key in the username and password,
but the button was gray out. I cannot click on it.

I have to repeat the process all over again to make my posting here.
Happen 2 times already.

The problem with the missing serial number has happened to a few people installing this new release. The Setup code is the same as V15 so maybe Microsoft have changed something that has stopped it working.

We have already sorted out a fix that will be included in the installer for the first patch, but the workaround is simple:

If you are on Windows 7 (or Vista) you should right-click on the Easy-PC program shortcut and choose 'Run as administrator', on XP (although the problem rarely happens on XP) just run up the program.

Now go to Help, About, click Upgrade, and enter your 16-character number again. This should put the missing number in the correct place in the system registry.
