Sometimes it would be handy to suppress the silk screen for a particular component so that a modified version could be constructed within the PCB layout editor. I have had times in the past where components have been pulled from differn libraries and sometimes the basic constuction of the silk screen symbols vary. At the moment to change this you need to create an alternative PCB symbol etc etc .... a lot of bother.
If we could supress the silk screen fo a particular component and then simply create a new one over the top, this would help.
