Hi all,
I've got loads of empty nets reported in the DRC check. I have deleted empty nets in 'Settings' > 'Design Technology' > 'Nets' but they still show in the report.
Is there a way either to make sure deleted is deleted (i.e. not apparently hidden) or to suppress empty nets in the report?
I know I can ignore them but it's messy, there are 250 of them!

Before you removed the unused nets, did you check the 'Show Auto-Named Nets' box? If you didn't, do it now and you might find the missing nets!
Alternatively (a simple mistake to make) have you removed them in the schematic and overlooked the pcb, or vice versa? |

Errr - I had forgotten to remove unused nets on the PCB but it might be more complicated.
It's an imported BM2 layout and it looks like pads on components which are not placed to connect to a track properly still have their old BM2 net names.
I've deleted unused nets from both schematic and PCB and this has only got rid of a few from the DRC. 'goto' empty nets on the PCB highlights single pads on unconnected components.
I think this is due to the origins on BM2 being pad 1 and EPC being centre causing components to be out of position. |

The imported components shouldn't move. That sounds like a bug. Can you send an example of a BM design where this happens to the support desk please?
The single pin pads you'll have to remove the nets manually. Go to [View], [Display] and on the highlights tab check the box for unconnected pins. That will put a cross over any unconnected pins, so the ones that still have a net should be obvious. |

Perhaps this is not quite as I appeared to explain it -
In BM a connection is made if the track contacts the pad, EPC seems to only make a connection if the centre point of the end of the track coincides with the centre of the pad, so I have load of 'line shapes' rather than tracks with nets allocated.
I will send the BM layout in case it shows anything, but to be honest this approach was getting too time consuming so we've decided to check the schematics very carefully rather than continue with importing the PCB |

OK, that makes sense. I've still logged a problem as Easy-PC should detect tracks like that and make the connection anyway. |
