On other schematic entry packages I've used in the past, the "inter-sheet" connectors (called TO and FROM in EasyPC) had the ability to display which other sheets the net was also used on.
As far as I can tell, the current version of EasyPC (12.0.3) does not have this feature.
May I raise a feature request ?
I'm guessing you could simply add an extra "value" to the component (e.g. SHEET) which would be updated (possibly automatically ?) as and when the component's associated net is used / removed on another sheet.
Thanks Mark

This isn't a trivial addition. The reason that the links aren't displayed at the moment is that the link components are just that, components, with no special features. Clearly you can manually add values to show the links, but they won't update automatically.
Also, the project files are only loosely linked, to the extent that most of the reports operate on a sheet by sheet basis rather than project wide. The information you want isn't even explicitly stored , but generated by searching when required.
I'll certainly log a request, but given the work required for a relatively minor improvement in functionality, it's unlikely to be a guaranteed addition. |

Hi all,
Sorry to resurrect this one!
I'm having a problem with putting a 'pretend' component to fool the DRC which doesn't actually do anything towards making a connection, it's not reliable.
Is it possible to make the DRC look for occurrences of the net on other schematic sheets within the project and not flag an error or highlight the net if the net exists on other sheets? this will make the choice of adding an 'off sheet' symbol simply cosmetic, the connection is guaranteed. I think the connection is made anyway when the PCB is created/updated but it just feels a bit 'hit and miss'

Have you tried running the DRC from the project page instead of the individual schematic sheet? |

I just did, it still shows them as unfinished connections.
It is possible to manually check from the report that the nets exist on other sheets if they have no connections, but if the net has 2 or more connections on a sheet then it isn't shown in the report and it's not obvious whether or not there is an error.
Can the report generator look for the net on other sheets and suppress the error message (or add a note to it) as long as there are 2 or more connections in the project. This sounds like less work than remembering the connections for each connection on each sheet. |
