I am now trying to use blind and buried vias. I beleive I have set the layer spans correctly and given the vias suitable names.
Now according to the help file when I track from one layer to the next it will choose the most suitable via but it does not. It chooses a through via even though I have set up the default via as a blind via. Currently I have to select the via I want as I am routing, then choose the layer I want and the correct via is used but if I want to go down another layer it will revert back to a through via unless I specifically tell it to use the one I want.
Have I forgotten to set something up somewhere as the help file is a bit vague on this point. I also wish to print out only certain layers but I always get all the vias and any surface mount pads whether I want them or not.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong here.

Many thanks,

Boris

I've just created a tiny example in a 6-layer design and it seems to work fine for me. I created layerspans 1-2 and 3-4, and when routing a track and changing layer from top to 2 it uses only the 1-2 span.

If you can't work it out, if you send an example pcb file to support@numberone.com we'll be happy to take a look for you.
