Hi,
I just upgraded to V23. Looks like some nice new features in there but there is one that I don't like and want to be able to at least toggle it off!

In this new version, when I draw a new track on a pcb for, say, the top layer, the bottom layer now disappears so that I am left with only the layer I am drawing on. I can see that this would be useful in some situations but I want to be able to see both layers when I'm drawing a track. It's too easy to drop a via where there is already a track on the other layer if the board is crowded.

I've looked at all the options (there are loads more than were in my old version 14) and I'm really not sure where I can turn this off. If I can't turn it off then I might have to go back to my old version which I don't want to do.

Can anyone advise on this? Thanks.

Go to "Settings/Preferencies/Display and tick "Lowlight Inactive Layers" (half-way down on the left hand side.

Hi Iain,

That's it!

Great. Thank you.

I do think though that it would be useful to be able to adjust the lowlight intensity. When the tracks "disappear" on my monitor I can only "just" see the other layer. If it were a brighter lowlight then it would be more useful.
