Hi
I'm a user of Easy-PC for too many years (since DOS version), and from the introduction of the Windows version of it I have followed its development thru all upgrades! Earlier this year we have updated to V20.x.x and you kindly send us the V21.x.x when this was released because we updated to V20 just about a month before it. However since the installation of the V21 version we have a lot of problems with the program! I can't be sure if the problems i will refer to, were also at the V20.x.x as I didn;t use it for a long time to be able to "catch" them. But they are at V21 for sure! We have reported one problem to support right away after updating. Some components made by us during all those years, have disappeared from libraries and others have been show with weird names at them! As you suggested I have deleted all CMX, PSX, & SSX files from our library folder. That seemed to work. However next time I opened again the EPC, the libraries again showing erroneous parts and as previously parts also disappeared from them! By deleting again the CMX, PSX, SSX the components missing re-appear and destroyed names on others have also been corrected! However this goes on & on everytime I'm restarting the EPC! To have all of my components available at libraries, I should first delete all CMX, PSX, SSX from library folder! This is a major issue for me as is clearly counterproductive!!!
Also, there is another issue with tracks on pcb! Say that you have routed a track to a pcb, and you want to modify it at a specific part of it. OK, you should click at a part of it and then with right click you can select "Net" > "Unroute Track Path" (or 'Unroute Nets") to unroute your selected part of that track! OK I have used this feature a lot in my life all those years working with EPC! So I'm doing it almost automatically when I need to do so! Well, at current version, doing so... DOESN'T Unroute either the path or Net!!! You can only use now "delete" but that deletes the track permanently from the board! Only other "working option" the user has, is to use "Unroute Track Segments" and going to each segment of the that track and delete it part by part!
Just those 2 for now, as I have also some cases that the EPC crashes while I'm working at a pcb! But that is not a an error that I can repeat by a specific sequence to be able to describe it step by step here.
I had prepared some screenshot of the above erros to upload them here but your system doesn't allow to upload images.
Thank you in advance Sotiris

To sort out your second issue you need to enable "Delete Track Does Unroute" in the PCB Interaction preferences. I have never understood why this isn't the default! |

also make sure you have the latest patch installed, we did have to fix an issue with Unroute where the switch on the Preferences dialog wasn't working properly. |

Current version I have is V21.0.2 isn't that the latest one?
And I have also set at preferences the "Deletet track Does unroute" and still no "Unroute PATH" or "NET" works! Just unroutes the selected segment of track. However that was working with "Unroute Track Segment" so nothing better than previously has happened! :)

Hi again About the "Unroute Track Path" issue, I have seen a previous reply to another user having the same problem, and by going to the 'Settings, Preferences, PCB Interaction. Under 'Unroute Nets', & unchecking the box for "Ignore Fixed Items" the unroute track path now works! Why anyone who have used the EPC for so many years should now have to do that because someone decided to make this as "default on installation" on the V21.x.x update, and not leave it as it was to all previous versions... is beyond my imagination! However at least it is working (will do extensive check however) now!
About the libraries issue, we have made a small patch here, that now we run this instead of the EPC start up icon, and as so the patch before starting the EPC it deletes ALL CMX, PSX, & SSX index from libraries folder! That at least allow me to have new indexes created at every start-up and by doing so, I do have all of my components shown correctly! But as it is obvious, this is not a "fix" of the problem, but more or less just a trick to overcome the real problem and do my job till an offical fix will be available!
running on Win 7 Home Premium SP1 might help u to find the error!
regards Sotiris
