"[/b] I have a through hole connector with a large silk screen outline on the component side of the PCB and on the solder side several SMD parts which are inside the the silkscreen of the through hole connector but a long way from the pads. This situation should not give design errors (but it does) as the outline of the connector on the solder side should be defined by the pads, not the silkscreen.
