I installed the 18.0.5 update yesterday and tried to start a new project today. Minor problem is the color for shapes and lines changed. The shapes are all green instead of black. The schematic connection line check box is unchecked by default. I fixed these two problems by clicking the Display button and making the changes on the Settings and Highligts tab. However, who made the decision to make these changes to the default Design Technology File?
A bigger problem is when I make connections between components. I click the Add Schematic Connection button and try to connect components together. Where I start the connection, the terminal X does not disappear. When I get to the far end of the connection, the circle appears where I am making the connection. I click and the connection completes and a net name is assigned. However, the terminal X's do not disappear at either end of the connection.
I can't find anywhere that a change can be made to make the X's disappear.
How can I revert back to using 18.0.4 and get rid of the problems with the 18.0.5?
Iain, it was a Technology file issue. I don't know how it changed. I have always used the default Technology file for schematics.
I completed a project I was working on, closed the project, and performed the upgrade. I then started a new project and created the schematic sheet for the project. When I placed the first component (ANSI A) I saw the color issue. I placed the first two components and when I connected them I saw the connection X issue.
I solved the problem by opening the project I had just finished and duplicated the Display settings that were in that project. I have created about 50 projects over the last 7 years and had never seen this issue.
