Hi,

I have tried the BOM composer. Pretty neat.

The default setup shows the column of each properties,
aligned in all the sections.

After I customised the Value column,
the alignment is ok for each group,
but different with the rest of the group.

Is there a way to ensure that the column width stays consistent throughout the BOM report?

Thank you.

Best Regards

The main report is generated in HTML using tables, and each 'section' of the report is a separate table so by default there is no 'link' between the tables in terms of column width. Each table will fit the column widths to the contents of that table.

There is a mechanism underneath that allows some control of the style sheet definitions used to format the report. This is hinted at in the Help page, but we haven't yet gone into much detail about it because the general feeling was that this was an area where most of our users would not wish to go.

If this really is a serious issue for you and you do need (rather than "would like") the report columns to be more aligned, then I can look at providing some more detail about the style sheet formatting.

Use the CSV output, import it into Excel, Open Office or any other spreadsheet then you are free to format it as you like.

Thanks.

Actually the columns display uniform across the table, until I try to customise the value column. Other than that, the COM composer seems to be able to generate consistent column width.
