Hi,

I am trying to create a component where two pads on the package lead to one pin on the schematic. In the Pin assignments section you can link two pads to one pin but it then gives the component pin the name of both of the pads, which is annoying but useable.

The part that I don't understand is that when I go to use this component on a PCB it places a track between the two pads of the component. This doesn't make any sense because they are linked inside the component.

Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong?

All you need do is replace the commas separating your pin numbers with plus signs instead.

This is the indication to the application that those pins are internally connected within the component and do not need to be routed on the PCB.

So instead of 1,2 you would put 1+2

David.
