(Apologies if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find anything related via search or skimming the topic titles.)

I have a moderately dense surface-mount design, and in several places the silk screen is rather 'cluttered', especially since I have placed SMT components on the top side where through-hole components are mounted on the bottom side. Is there a way to selectively (i.e. on a per component basis) turn off the component outline for a device, without having to go through all the trouble of generating another footprint in the library without a PCB symbol? I've tried some of the options under 'properties' but can't see anything that looks like it will do this (but may be I'm looking in the wrong place!). I'm running v16.0.8.

Component properties, suppress shape.
(The silk screen will still be visible on the editor)

I got it - excellent, many thanks! I tried checking/de-checking some of those and wondered why nothing seemed to happen - I was looking in the wrong place! Merrily removing some of the clutter, and adding more, only (hopefully) of a more informative nature!

What would be really useful in cases such as these would be to use the "Cutout" feature to locally edit the component silk screen outline, -but this feature only works on copper layers.
