I have joined a component pad with a pad on the bottom layer joined together with via's. These are all on the same net but I am still getting this error. Pad to Pad error (P-P) at (-38.64 0.17) on layer "[Bottom]". Error between Pad (Net 'N0001') and Component Pad LED4.3, Gap is 0.00 needs to be 0.10.
I've had exactly the same error. with reference to the help file, CM-CM errors:
quote:Checking between components is done using what the application determines is the component 'body'. By default this uses the enclosing box round all shapes and pads on the same side of the board as the component, and the enclosing box round the pads on the other side (for through-hole components).
In my case the enclosing box it used for a through hole was too large and I got the error at the closest point to an SM device on the other side of the board. I couldn't remove the error so I ignored it and went to manufacture! I like to remove all errors so any help with this one would be appreciated. The problem has only appeared (?) since the last update.
Yes all on the same Net. I have made 30 + boards using the same method this one seems to be a problem. Its picked up on every component laid out this way. The error only points to [Bottom] or Bottom Copper.
Looks like its my error. There seems to be identical pads on the bottom layer that are the same as the components bottom pad. Not to sure how they got there but will asume it was my error. Sorry guys!
As a matter of interest, why use two pads and a via?
Why not just use one pad with the same sizes in the style as the via, but with exceptions added to the top and bottom copper layers to create the different sized pads?
