Hi,
Not sure if this is correct.....
but on page 268 for the V14 manual, Spacings and Track Sizes title, the second paragraph states .....For instance, if a track grid of 25 thou is used with a 15 thou track, and the track to track spacing is also 15 thou, then the minimum legal pitch between adjacent tracks is 30 thou. This potentially wastes around half of the possible track positions.
On page 269, title Routing Grids, it states that the Trace Router is a gridless autorouter, it does not use any grid to run. It simply uses the track thickness, via style and spacing rules defined to make the best possible use of routing space available.
Hence these two statements in the manual seem to contradict one another. Is this a correct assessment ?. If so, which statement is correct ?. Thanks.
In addiition, how do these statements affect the Pro-Router Option ?. (i assume that it is still a grid based router ??)
Is the Pro-Router upgraded with every new version of the Easy-PC., or is this a requested upgrade ?.

Good catch!
Looks like a doc bug on p268, as the statements it makes will only apply when using a gridded router. Trace-Router is gridless, Easy-Router and Pro-Router are both gridded, so this bit of the manual should mention the difference.
On the question of updates, any changes in ProRouter are incorporated into the relevant Easy-PC update, you don't need to ask for anything 'extra'. The same with the other add-on cost options such as Gerber import, IDF, etc. The only time we would generally offer a separate update for an add-on tool such as Pro-Router is if there was a big expansion in functionality that warranted it being issued as an update in its own right.
