Hi all I'm modifying a circuit/pcb (inherited) which contains "offpage" signal names on the circuit.
When I run the integrity check and pass the changes on to the pcb, it comes up with the message "can't find offpage in the library"
Now I don't want to add these to the pcb, they are just a way of saving time and space on a circuit (as we know)
Is there a way to suppress these on the check, or do I scan the report for real errors and accept them?
Was the method used on the circuit wrong?
I could just add the connections on the circuit, but that wont solve the problem if I want to use it in the future.

It sounds like those offpage items have been created as 'real' components, rather than the schematic-only components that would normally be used for things that don't want to transfer to the PCB.
You can either replace them with a similar offpage component that has been created as a schematic-only comp, or change the properties of the existing ones in the schematic design to tick the 'Scm to/from Pcb' checkbox under 'Suppress Component'. Either way the program should then know these are effectively diagrammatic elements that don't form part of the real circuit. |

Hi Dave Thanks for your reply. YES, on "Properties" it is as a PCB component as well, so what I've done is dissconnect it from the net, then display net name and place this in the now empty "offpage" symbol. All I get then is a list of components to add on the report. So a quick scan does it. (only a small circuit)
On your suggestion, where is "Scm to/from Pcb" checkbox "Suppress Component" sounds as though this is on a later release, I have V9.0.4 ? |

The suppression feature is in the properties of the component, but not in V9, which is now 3-4 years old. The ability to suppress components from being included in various reports and functions was requested by a number of users, and implemented a couple of versions ago. |
