Hi, just by adding few components (using copy to function) into a std library (discrete) I am unable to access it: show 0 items

When I look at the file discrete.cml it seems fine (151k)...

How could I fix that?
Thx

Occasionally the automatically generated index file for a library fails to update. If this happens, just delete it. Look for a file with the same name as the library, but ending in 'x' instead of 'l', so in this case the file would be '.cmx'.

When the file is automatically recreated, the problem has usually disappeared.

Hi,

I get a whole load of problems with the 12.0.3 library. I'm not talking about the reorganised system, the new concept is good and to my mind is how it should be done.

What I have gripes with is the implementation.

Copy a component and normally the preview doesn't work unless you move focus away from the component then back to it.

Copy a component and often it doesn't appear in the list at all. Recover from this by doing the copy again, it now complains that the component already exists. Do it anyway then it will normally appear.

Rename a component at your peril. On a number of occasions EPC just crashes. It may or may not have done the rename. Delete it and do it again then it will probably work ok.

What I do now is make sure the library is backed up before adding or editing components.

Adding new components is normally trouble free, its when you use the management tools it starts to fall apart.

Here is hoping the next release will have a more trouble free library manager.

It is true that if you have a look at what competitors' library management look like you are allowed to think that EasyPC is far behind!

What we have to use with easyPC (arguably ugly and not very practicle ):

An example of a clean way to display the library! with competitor X:

New feature.
Since updating to 12.0.5 the library manager[components]
no longer previews the PCB symbol correctly.
The schematic symbol previews ok but the PCB symbol is blank.

I noticed this also..... however if you click on the footprint description in the information box, the footprint will appear.

Remi,

The price of the competing products is at least 6 times that of Easy PC. The only other affordable products are Eagle and Diptronix. Diptronix seems okay but a bit buggy. Eagle is aweful in my opinion, very un-user-friendly and the library management is no where near as clear as Easy PC.

That said, the competitors library looks awesome. It would be great to be able to group components according to device and manufacturer. So I'll hold thumbs that the next version of Easy PC will be as affordable and include an even better library.
