Hi,
I've created a component with some text (+ & - for battery terminals). When I rotate the component in my PCB layout, the text moves from where I placed it when the component was defined. It does not happen if I make the + & - out of lines using the Add Shape-Line, only if I use text.

I'm guessing that the text is using true type fonts. You don't say if the text is just displaced, or if the rotation is wrong. If it's rotation, try changing [Settings], [Design Options].
If it's position only, then there is a known problem with TT text which is outside the scope of the program. It's known to have an inaccurate origin at some rotations, and inaccurate length at some zoom levels. This can even be observed in Word if there's a datum for observation (such as an embedded graphic).
We don't have any known current issues with text in the default system stroke font. |

You might now!  I'm using the default text, not a TT font. I think it's just position, but with a symmetrical symbol like + it's hard to tell if it's rotation too...
[Edit] I've checked it out & it's the position of the text which moves. I do have the setting for 'ensure readable' ticked, which seems to be what's causing it. If I un-tick this, rotating the part keeps the text where it should be. I'll send a file demonstrating this to Peter :) |
