DXF import will only 'recognise' shapes and text, so it will only create text, copper, track. There is nothing in the software at the moment that will allow you to change a shape into a pad.
However, if you have a shape on an electrical layer, you can assign this shape to a pad number. So you could add a pad and place it within the copper shape to give the 'connect point', then assign the copper to the number of that pad. Then you'd have the shape you wanted, and the pad that the rest of the program needs to connect to.
One point on this though, you would also need to create your own solder resist / paste shapes for the copper, as the program would not auto-generate them like it does for pads.
