I have just installed the patch for version 20.02 and every time I click on anything in the footprint editor I get an error message saying "Failed to save document". Clicking OK seems to clear the error but it is rather tedious. Is anyone else getting this?

I'm not seeing this on any release I've tried, including the latest. A footprint is just like a tiny design so there should be nothing special about editing a footprint rather than a PCB design file.
Worth checking your Security Copy settings, maybe turn it off for the moment to see if that stops the message, as I suspect Security Copy is the only thing that is likely to be trying to save a file when you haven't initiated Save yourself.
Thanks David. In the end I didn't need to do anything as simply shutting down Windows and restarting seems to have cured the problem.
