I saw at some point an advertisement for releasing different versions of a main design. I think this was to enable components to be left off a BOM or indicate components are not fitted? I never looked into it properly and now do not know where that feature is? Is it a V19 feature or some weird dream I had?

Thanks

Trev

It is not a dream, in fact it is so much not a dream that it was actually back in V17 that "assembly variants" were introduced. As the feature list on the home page says:

Easily create two or more variations of your design without having to create separate design files or have to resort to complicated schemes to create your Bill of Materials (BOM).

David.

Excellent, was worried having such dreams represented a lack of a life so am now full of relief!

Can the assembly variants be used with BOM composer? It does not say on the help page it can.

Yes, variants and BOM composer should work together.

Well I created a variant in my design. But when I got to BOM composer I am not sure how I select only parts for that variant? Can you help with this please?

Just a follow up. The variant option is fantastic, really liking it.
