Some symbols in a component/connector have gone missing. Its called "AMP-2" & "AMP-4". I seem to remember it was part of standard Schematics.ssl ? Any suggestions where I could look.? Its happened after I reinstalled V18 (after tidying up and uninstalling v16, which uninstalled v18 as well). I've upgraded most years since 2008, and I think "AMP-x" was part of the early schematic. I do have backups, but they also don't contain anything called AMP-4 I do have all my libs in a personal data area, so I'm tracking it and attempt to snapshot it all when I do a PCB release. I did manage to recreate AMP-2, and saved it to my UserLib but then hit the same problem with another connector - so thought I should use it to try and find the root cause. I wonder if there is a report that identifies where components get there parts from that I can run on a design to check the integrity of the parts.? Many thanks |

I haven't been able yet to trace AMP-2 or AMP-4 to any of our libraries, but one thing that you may find useful is the ability to save data (components and symbols) back from a design into a library. You can use this to recreate libraries of your custom components even if you have lost the original library files.
There are two ways to do this. The 'bulk' method is to go to the Library manager dialog, and click the Add File button, browse to your chosen design file and open it. All the library data that corresponds to the 'tab' on the dialog will be imported into the currently selected library file.
The other way is more selective, allowing you to save particular items. To do this, select one or more components in the design, right-click and choose Save To Library. This opens a dialog that lets you choose the destination libraries.
As for reporting, you should find a 'Source Library Report' on the reports dialog that will try and hunt down the current library location of all components and symbols in the current design.
Hope this helps!
