I need to create a component, for a two layer pcb, with a D shape hole in the pads. How do I accomplish this?

A hole that is not round needs to be routed.

Simply create the shape as a board outline, if you look at the properties you will see that you can have the hole plated or not. Plated holes are routed before the holes are plated through, unplated holes are routed after plating.

Thank you.

Visually the board outline within the copper pad does not "over ride" the filled copper pad so you must pay close attention to it. (The drill/route table is correct)

As a future update could EASY PC be changed so that the non round hole (board outline) in a pad be shown when viewing the copper layers?

The router will just cut into the copper. However I would check all this with your PCB manufacturer to make sure all the info is correct.

Also there may be a limit on the size of the router bit that could affect the size of your hole and there will be arcs on the corners.

It may also be better to create a separate layer for "Cutouts" with these areas defined on it. May help the manufacturer with their process.
