Posted - 11 Jul 2019 : 17:20:35 So EZPC has a rudimentary 3D visualisation thing. What I'd like to know is can it output that as a file compatible with a 3D cad system, eg. Solidworks? I don't think mine can (V19) but has the latest version got anything? |

Posted - 25 Jul 2019 : 16:36:28 With the IDF export add-in you can export 3D mechanical files.
These import into Fusion 360 after renaming the file extension. I'm not sure if Solidworks supports the IDF or EMN/EMP. I'm pretty sure EMN/EMP is native in Fusion now but don't quote me on that.
The only issue is the component models obviously aren't carried over, I've got a significant number of foot prints in my Fusion 360 library so replacing the dimensional boxes with correct models isn't too much of a chore.
I can then export this complete model as a STEP file. |
