I recently had a query from a pcb manufacturer as the slot widths in my pcb design were "inconsistent". The drill table and plot report give the same width but this differed from the Tool specification in the Drill file.

After a chat with Peter in Support, we established that the setting (value) in Plotting & Printing=> Options=>NC Drill,=>Minimum Routing Tool Size was overwriting the slot width in the slotted pad definition.

This occurs without EPC giving any warning whatsoever. I always had the impression that "ROUTING" refers to the pcb profile whilst I've always referred to the slot widths INSIDE the pcb profile as "MILLING". I realise that similar mechanical process is used for both processes, but I thought that this setting was just to ensure that the pcb profile wasn't routed with a very small tool size.

I hope this posting might serve as a warning to others using slotted pads.
