Posted - 11 Apr 2014 : 16:25:32 I currently have a project with 3 schematic designs relating to one PCB Design, If i generate a report within a schematic, I only get the components within that design. which is understandable.. However if i go to the project Page and try to run a BOM report for all designs to be included, EasyPC Crashes 100% has anyone else had this?
Thoughts please

Posted - 12 Jun 2014 : 08:35:25 According to NumberOne support - who I have to say are excellent - the "feature" of creating a "schematic" report based on the PCB as opposed to the schematic is deliberate behaviour. This would suggest that everyone will see this behaviour. However, the behaviour will only be apparent if one has schematic only parts that one wishes to appear in the report such as nuts & bolts, otherwise if all the parts in the schematic appear on the PCB then there would be no difference between a schematic based report and a PCB based report.

Posted - 11 Jun 2014 : 18:56:15 Disabling Dual Screen Mode is a good thing to do in all instances of EasyPC. It causes more crashes and bugs than what it's worth. If you want to see the schematic & pcb layout simultaneously buy a bigger monitor screen!
Sorry, but along with Iain, I haven't experienced these problems either. |

Posted - 11 Jun 2014 : 14:36:10 I tried my own suggestions and moved my current project to a local drive, this made no difference as the report did not work correctly. I upgraded to the latest release 17.0.6 and this made no difference. I then removed the PCB from the project listing et voila! the report worked as it should do. In doing this I can also confirm that before removing the PCB the report was listing components from the PCB and not from the schematic. This was evidenced by schematic only parts NOT appearing when the PCB was in the project but appearing when the PCB was removed plus some components had been updated on the PCB but not in the schematic and some values were different. This would suggest some sort of bug in the report processing. I shall report this to the support people directly. |

Posted - 11 Jun 2014 : 13:43:33 I have had this and continue to have this problem with multiple page schematics not producing a correct part list. (EasyPC 17.0.4) The script works fine on individual pages but does not work correctly on the whole project. When running on the whole project it seems to be reporting parts that are on the PCB as opposed to parts that are schematic only. Turning off Dual Screen mode stopped EasyPC crashing when running the script. The same script would not work on a project stored on the network but did work on the same project when stored locally. Bizzarely however, the script would work on a very similar project that was on the network. Confused, I certainly was. So in summary, try turning off Dual Screen mode and moving the project to a local directory.

Posted - 11 Apr 2014 : 20:26:09 Just tried it with a 13 page schematic design and its ok. Have you tried running the report from the PCB editor ?
Iain
By the way you should be at 17.0.4
