Just wondered if there was a way to add a "no fit" property to a component to prevent it appearing on the BOM?

I could do this with a post processing script but only if I don't collate the part numbers which would be very untidy.

Any ideas?

Click on Component to highlight it. Then "Properties" (Alt+Enter),then "Values". Add Name= Value, (from drop down menu) then type Do Not Poulate in value box. Make sure check box is ticked.

How can I make it shown on the schematic that the component is not fitted / not present on the parts list?

There is a 'Suppress Component' feature on component properties that should allow you to do exactly that.

Checkboxes are provided that allow you to suppress a particular component from:
- parts lists
- scm to/from pcb
- IDF export
- all plots
- plotting shapes
- plotting text
