Posted - 01 Sep 2010 : 16:37:09 I'm trying to output a CSV parts list and the "Collate This Column" checkbox does not seem to be having any effect when applied to reference designator. So for each ref. des. I get a new line even if the part number is the same, ideally I would like just one line for each different part number and on that line a list of all the ref. des.'s using that part number.
Collating like this does work correctly when I'm outputting a text file.
Only a minor problem - any workarounds? |

Posted - 02 Sep 2010 : 16:11:38 Hi David,
Thanks for the fast reply. I wasn't using the comma to seperate the ref. des.'s - I had tried an underscore. Your post about the "Bom With Names" report working allowed me to do spot the difference with my report. My problem was that I had the checkbox "Keep Repeated Lines" checked. After I unchecked this the worked OK and collated my ref. des.'s like I wanted.
Also after ticking the "Quoted" checkbox I was able to seperate the collated ref. des.'s with a comma and that looks much neater.
Thanks again. |

Posted - 02 Sep 2010 : 09:07:40 I've just tried this, by taking the 'BOM with names' report we provide and simply ticking the CSV checkbox, and I get collated ref names all in the one column with no repeated lines.
Maybe you can try that and see if it works for you, then it might help you find the difference between that report and yours.
At the risk of asking the obvious question, what separator are you using in that collated column? It's not a comma is it perchance?
