Posted - 22 Nov 2006 : 10:16:47 OK so we've just upgraded to EasyPC 10 (from 5 - yes 5) all is fine except for when we come to make the boards....
We use Circuit CAM and Board Master....
The Copper and board outline - we have managed to cope with, but the drilling is a different matter..
When we import the drill data - it comes out about 10 times too big and not positioned with the rest of the board -
We think that it is a simple settings issue - any help on this matter will be gratefully received.

Posted - 23 Nov 2006 : 12:23:35 It is a simple matter of settings. With Gerber files, both the aperture size and the scaling can be embedded, so any other software reading the file has all the information. Unfortunately the same isn't true of Excellon files.
The drill information is embedded, so that can be read OK, but not the absolute scale. For instance, if you had set your drill file to be output with 3 integers and 2 decimals in inches, but Circuit Cam or Board Master had internal settings expecting 3 integers and 3 decimals, all the drill information would appear to have shrunk by a factor of 10 because of the misinterpretation. The reverse is also true, and if metric and imperial get confused, things can get quite interesting to sort out.
I hope this helps.
