Posted - 01 Dec 2013 : 15:51:10 I have components mounted on both sides of board, when doing Design Rule Check I get errors when they are on opposite side of board! This did not happen using 16 version... Am I the the only one??

Posted - 02 Dec 2013 : 14:20:40 Yes, I am sure. I have been using exactly the same component (a switch button) in several earlier versions of EPC, and several other boards as well, with "overlapping" components on other side of board.

Posted - 02 Dec 2013 : 10:16:10 Are you sure it is Side 1 components to Side 2 components?
EPC extrapolates the size of the component from the silkscreen outline, so sometimes when you have an odd shaped component and you can see "air" between the components EPC will make an imaginary "rectangle" around the odd shaped component and give a component to component error if the other component falls inside this imaginary rectangle. |

Posted - 02 Dec 2013 : 09:51:17 I unistalled 17.02 and reinstalled 17.0, the Cm-Cm error was still generated... It might very well be "**** behind the buttons" as we say in Sweden, but behind which buttons???

Posted - 02 Dec 2013 : 09:33:12 I've successfully completed a "components on both sides" design using 17.02. Sorry can't help. |
