I have a component that was originally designed to be on the bottom layer.
I have used this component on a another design and have flipped it onto the Top layer.

Problem is that when moving this component it still highlights the bottom layer.
Now when changing the component back to bottom it highlights the Top!

Is this a bug or how do I make it behave.

The software 'assumes' that components are designed on the top side, and when they are flipped over (the mirrored flag is checked) then they occupy the bottom side.

I suspect the easiest solution is to alter the footprint, or build an alternate footprint for the component, that has all the bits on the top side instead, then use Update Component to reload that footprint into the design.
