If you prefer a different cad software for this, create an outline there. Export that to DXF and import it into EasyPC.
I agree with the other posters that using the mouse and dialog (right click) gives you all you need to create an outline. I made several like this when boards needed cutouts without a problem, |

Posted - 03 Aug 2011 : 14:25:22 Just use the left/right hand mouse buttons, - if you have a mouse. If you don't, buy one, -you'll find it very useful! |

Posted - 03 Aug 2011 : 10:37:34 Daniel, after you (left) click for the first corner, right click for the drop down menu which then gives you the offset/co-ordinates selection. |

Posted - 02 Aug 2011 : 17:53:51 Hello David,
it doesn't work. If you use + and or shift and + you will never be able to insert a corner. Try it yourself!
Maybe it is bug

Posted - 02 Aug 2011 : 10:47:56 At any point where the application wants you to place a corner, e.g. during Add Board Shape, you can use the Type Offset command to specify the location of the next corner.
So if for example you have to create a board where the first horizontal segment is 25.7mm long, you could start Add Board Shape, click for the first corner, then do Type Offset (default shortcut is shift +) and enter 25.7mm for X and 0 for Y. This will insert the next corner at that distance from the first, then you can work onwards from there.
You should be able to use Type Offset and Type Coordinate in many places in the interaction where cursor positioning is required. Type Offset is particularly handy for example to 'nudge' a component across by a small amount without having to interactively pick it up first.

Posted - 02 Aug 2011 : 09:46:15 Set the system origin at one corner of the board outline, then you can use the cursor keys to move the cursor to an exact position, then press F4 (add pad). Pad appears exactly where you want it, now change the pad properties to the slot parameters you want. If all else fails RTFM. |

Posted - 01 Aug 2011 : 15:05:37 Daniel, If you just draw any old rectangular pcb outline, you can edit it's exact dimensions afterwards. Set the grid to as fine as you like down to 1 thou. What precision are you after? |

Posted - 01 Aug 2011 : 14:39:28 I work with other cad systems. Other cad manufacturer use a dialogue to insert the desired coordinates. It is more precise than using the mouse.

Posted - 01 Aug 2011 : 09:49:05 I think that you have to use the mouse to start the board outline, then you can use the Cursor/Enter keys to adjust the length of one sector. Then you must select another sector (using left click & mouse) before using the cursor keys again. Unless anyone else knows better? |
