Using the right click menu it is extremely easy to move the system origin by accident when the intention is to move the relative origin. Once the design is off grid it takes a lot of time to get it back to normal.

I work exclusively with the relative origin while designing library shapes, fixing holes and critical component positions.
Why is it possible to change the system origin so easily - am I missing something?
Otherwise how about a popup warning dialog box?
thanks
Al

but the hot key 'O' sets the relative origin to the cursor position.
Isn't it better to use "set the origin to an item" - a fixed point.

(I've just redefined it under Settings | Customise | Keyboard so problem fixed - no more multiple mouse clicks for a simple function)

Most users who change the relative origin frequently do so using the hot key <O>. Using the cursor keys beforehand aligns the cursor to grid and ensures accuracy.

The system origin has been made adjustable so that the user can decide the common point for grids when switching between metric and imperial units. It's a fairly common requirement for this point to lie within the design, which is impossible if it's stuck in the bottom left hand corner.
