Posted - 23 May 2011 : 13:00:32 Hi Iain. I have two design which are almost exactly the same (one chip is different, MAX4618 or MAX4619). They are fairly simple two layers designs. I don't need to recreate the schematic.
Can I send you the gerbers to look at?

Posted - 23 May 2011 : 12:45:09 Hi Moby,
I am assuming you want to convert the gerbers into EasyPC so you can then carry out mods to the board and re-generate new gerbers ?. That should be relatively straightforward but depends on board complexity. I am heavily committed at the moment but if it were a fairly simple two layer design I could perhaps give you a cost. If you want to re-create the schematic in EasyPC that links to the layout, well this would be time consuming and expensive, and I would have no capacity for that at the current time. Iain

Posted - 23 May 2011 : 12:10:48 Hi Iain, Rob. I have Intelligent gerber import but I've never really managed to use it successfully to convert files.
The schematic is not a problem. I designed the circuit originally so I have the schematic, but at the time I used another artwork guy to do the layout in Cadstar. The schematic does not have netlists by the way so all I have are the Cadstar gerbers.
Would either of you care taking on the job?

Posted - 23 May 2011 : 10:26:39 If you have Intelligent Gerber import then connectivity is produced and you can then generate the components and then reverse engineer back to produce a schematic. It all does take a bit of effort, the schematic produced is really a rats nest, so unless you have the original schematic, it can take a bit of time to tidy up.

Posted - 23 May 2011 : 09:56:37 easyPC does have an option to import Gerbers, however it does not generate any connectivity to nets etc.
I have used this to bring designs into easyPC from an old version of Proteus, so I could convert it to easyPC, as you would expect it is time consuming, since the schematic needs manually converting and then its net list linked to the pcb. I would however be interested in helping you out with this.
