I can see 4 options for autorouting:-

Easy-Router
Pro Router
Specctra Router
Trace Router

I have licenses for Easy-Router and Trace Router.

What are the differences between these routers and which is best?

Pro Router is excellent .... but it costs !! .... I think its a badge-engineered Spectra.

Routers bug me. I admit it. When I went looking for a PCB package
last year the first thing I looked for was good router options. Unfortunately
no one anywhere seems to have done any comparisons. At least I couldn't
find any.

I have the EPC router.
I'm not a slave to routers but some are significantly better than others.
This one is adequate for my current use and I use it by letting it
run a few times - fiddling with the results each time and then manually
changing things that either don't work or I don't like.

Simply rotating a component or aligning it within or across an area that didn't
route last time can make a big difference to results.
It isn't a patch on some I found but I dont need better right now - but I'm on the edge.

I think it's a tool like any other but totally indispensable when working with
complex boards. And it's suprising how fast a board can get complex.

Thanks Iain. So I don't have either of the "good" ones.

I'm not a fan of autorouters, but sometimes when things get tight I will let the autorouter add one trace, just to see if it is possible to route it at all.

Easy Router was the original router supplied as part of the EasyPC installation .... and was not very good. I believe that Trace Router is its replacement and meant to be better. However none of these will be anything compared to Prorouter or Spectra.

However ... a word of warning .... be careful letting a router loose on your layout, best to manually route always.
