Posted - 26 Aug 2010 : 05:12:07 Hi,
Most PCB manufacturers seem to accept Easy-PC file format.
What i want to do is remove the component names and symbols names from components before submitting to the PCB manufacturer.
Is this possible as an option in saving the PCB layout file ?.
Can all NET names be reassigned in PCB file as an option so that NET references or names can be removed.
Thanks and Regards,
Richard. |

Thanks - have just downloaded the program - will help in viewing the gerber files.

I have this set up as a User Tool and after creating my gerber files I can then import them all back into Viewmate on different coloured layers for checking and once again "what you see is what you get"- hopefully. It is very comforting to see another program's interpretation of the data.

Thanks - will have to experiment with the Gerber output option. Had a quick scan and it does seem to be a straightforward task.

I would doubt that many manufacturers would have EasyPC at their disposal or a good working knowledge of to create the gerbers from the application .... I have never heard of this before, normally they would only deal with gerber or ODB++.

Posted - 26 Aug 2010 : 10:15:34 Hi Iain,
Thanks. Not used Gerber output before - but i also checked - you can rename all Nets, and i think you can delete the parameters for IC's.
The reason for wanting to send the Easy-PC file is that a tutorial stated that sending the program file is less prone to errors if you are not familiar with Gerber output creation. Essentially what you see on your PC screen should be what you receive.
Perhaps this could be a feature of Easy-PC - santised file exportation for the PCB file ????

If so all the info you speak of is not included.
