Hi,

I have the requirement to connect two copper pour areas which are separated on layer two by another copper pour area - essentially multiple +ve and -ve supplies.

1. Both copper pour areas are on layer 2. They both run verticle in orientation. Net set to Npower (example)
2. I have created copper pour areas on bottom layer whose area overlaps the two copper pour areas on layer 2 to some degree. The copper pour runs horizontal in orientation. Net set to Npower.

How do i connect the layer 2 copper pour areas to the bottom layer copper pour ?.

I have tried vias, but you cannot state that they need to connect layer two to bottom copper.

Do i need to set the vias to the same Net as the copper pour areas which will pick up the connectivity required ?.

Thanks and regards,

Richard.

Hi All,

Have just set the Net to relevant value and the via connects the two copper pour areas as they have the same Net name.

I thought i would ask in case frustration got the better of me if this did not work.

Are there any issues i need to be aware of in connecting copper pour areas with this method.

Thanks and regards,

Richard.
