Just doing my first baord in v12, previously smt components on top electrical showed as red like tracks, now they seem to be showing in light blue like bottom electrical tracks, I though it was fitting then on bottom electrical but printing just the top elec suggests it is just a display thing.
have i inadvertantly set something odd or id this cxhanged behaviour?

TIA

It sounds like you've got some odd colour settings. Go to [View], [Display], and on the Layers and Layer Spans tab, look at the box for symbol pads on side [Top]. That's the colour. double click on it to change it.

This colour is local to the design, but if it's not been manually changed, it will have picked the colour up from either a technology file, or a colour file if one's been loaded since. If you've got a custom technology file you use, it might be worth checking the colours in that as well.
