Is there an easy way to make individual technology files for each proposed PCB-fab house? For instance cost may be a major penalty in manufacture therefore, if I have a technology file with the spacing (for example) capabilities of each PCB-fab can I run the same MASTER PCB file with different technology files without corrupting the MASTER file?

Thanks.

Sorry about the slow reply to this one.

Technology files can be opened and edited in the same way as design files. It's just that instead of containing a design, they've just got all the settings. So the answer's yes, it is easy.

Just open an existing file that's close to what you want, edit it, then use [File], [Save As]. The most important thing to remember is that you need to make sure the right one's specified whenever you start a new design (including translating to pcb).

However, the second part of your question's harder. When a new design is created, the contents of the technology file are dumped into the design and become local to the design. The only way you could change this without a lot of work is to use the [Settings], [Technology File] dialogue. By selecting each tab and using copy all, you can push all the settings from the selected technology file into the design. That will replace any matching settings (such as all the spacings), but it won't remove any styles that aren't in the selected technology file (such as redundant pad styles or net names). There's no single operation to replace all the technology data in the file.
