I'm having trouble figuring out how to import a new netlist into a layout that I've made before. First I delete the previous connections so that the old net is removed. Then I import the new one and have an error message stating that the parts already exists in the design. This causes the netlist to fail the import process. and the connections are not made.

How do I keep my placement while at the same time import the new netlist??

Rename the old design, then create a new design with the same name as the original. Import the netlist into the new design, then apply the layout pattern from the old design to the new one.

That should give the desired result.
