It highlight it up to the point where there is not a track part that is left dangling unconnected! The highlight of the selected net, dissapears at the most important part, the leftover dangling track segment! But that is what should be highlighted more for a user to locate it easy inside even many other tracks and possible some of them also dangling around make it more difficult to distinguish it by an independent color as the net highlight is!
