Posted - 17 Aug 2010 : 14:11:10 I've made my own TO / FROM symbols which when combined with net names make for a neat way of making "virtual" connections.
The net name is made visible in the schematic by ticking the "Net Name" box in the properties of the component pad that the net is connected to.
The problem is my net names are not printing!
I'm interested to know if anyone else is having problems in 14.0.1 printing net names, or even better, has found a workaround . . . |

Posted - 20 Aug 2010 : 09:17:17 Just to be clear any sort of print at all is not printing net names, either to CutePDF, the real printer, the built in PDF creator, or through the Outputs -> Plotting and Printing menu.
I've made a little bit of progress with this. I wondered why my power symbols print the net names and the general purpose TO / FROM don't. It turns out if I assign a net name into the TO / FROM symbol in the library (making it like the power symbols) it does then print the net name and the net name can be changed and it will still print.
To make the schematic show the net name I have been clicking on the symbol pin or terminal, selecting properties and then ticking the checkbox for net name. I asked a colleague how did he print net names and he right clicks the net and selects Display Net Name. This way the net name does then print out OK. I then looked at the Net Name checkbox for the terminal and it is now ticked!
I think this must be a bug. |

Posted - 18 Aug 2010 : 11:48:44 NetNames seem to print when I try an example design here (output to PDF through Printing&Plotting dialog, and File|Print to Windows printer). Perhaps you could email support with an example of a file that doesn't work for you, and we'll take a look.

I wonder if I'm missing a tick box somewhere? |

Posted - 17 Aug 2010 : 18:45:14 I have version 14.01 and have not seen this issue.
I usually print to pdf using cutepdf (which acts like a printer driver).
On our systems we have observed that using the built in print to pdf function does not work.
We have reported this as a bug.
When you say - netnames do not print - Is this using the print directly to printer output or pdf output?
