After I connect a group of pins to a bus

I then go through and rename them to the net name I want, while in the rename dialog box if I hit apply then ok, a dialog comes up informing the net name is already in use in the project and ask if I want to use this net name.

Thanks
Tim C.

That sounds reasonable. Is the bus an open or closed one? (That is, has it got net names internally assigned).

If it's a closed bus, I'm not sure what all the implications are of renaming a connection to use a net not currently in the bus properties. That could be what's triggering the message.
