I remember buying a copy of EasyPc when it first came out.
It seemed quite straight forward to use.
Function keys edited or created new items.
I recently downloaded a new version and some of the function keys no longer do what they used to.
I found it hard to edit components.

Oh the days when I upgraded from black crepe tape to red and blue.
And how the hand cream manufacturers used to love the fingers with lots of straight cuts slicing into the upper layers of skin, leaving a criss-cross pattern from the scalpel all over my finger tips.
But at least I got adept at removing wood splinters with a 10A scalpel blade   .
I remember the first upgrade to a PET based Wayne Kerr Artworker 3000 with it's 5" floppy drives. |

Yes, the world was so simple then. No link between schematic and layout. And that XY plotter output that hammered the ends of our plotter pens flat in a few minutes. But paradise compared with crepe tape and rub- on footprints. Didn't we feel bold when we laid tracks 25 thou apart!
I later defected to Boardmaker, because it had design rule checking and would import Easy-PC files. Little did I know of the behind the scenes shenanagins that led to such a situation. Boardmaker developed a bit - to Boardmaker 2 - then stuck fast. I returned to Easy-PC after experiments with Ranger and EdWin (and others) showed me how very not green the transepetic grass could be. |

Ah! I remember the "good old days" too when it ran under DOS and only had a 640x480 resolution and limited copper layers.
Now we have customisable function keys, and running under Windows, we can use all the Windows features we have all come to love including full colour.
Let's embrace the progress made!
