Hello,

I'm editing a board that was designed in easypc 8. I'm now using easypc 17. The board has 4 mounting holes. These mounting holes are not displayed in easypc. I created gerber files of the board and the mounting holes show up on the TOP Copper layer when I look at the gerber file in viewmate. The TOP Copper layer is turned on and visible in easypc. Can somebody tell me why the mounting holes are not visible and hole to make them visible?

thank you,
Steve

This illustrates how difficult it is to find something in the present arrangement of menus, e.g. we've got,-

Settings=>Preferences=>Display
and View=>Display

so under which path should "View Drill Holes" be?

It's a struggle at times to find the weird and wonderful, lesser used features. There must be a more intuitive way of presenting all these options, or are there now too many features/options, -some of which are never used?

I found the problem. Some how pads were not set visible. Setting them visible makes the mounting holes show up.

"Draw Drill Holes" is checked in the display settings.

Check to make sure they are selectable in the Display dialogues

Thank you for the replies.

The holes do show up in the 3d view front and back. I tried zooming in on the holes in the normal view and they are not there. I tried selecting them by holding down the left mouse and dragging a window over them and they are not there.

If Iain's right, try using the 3D viewer in EPC, are the holes visible there?
Check both top & bottom layers!

If the holes have very thin annular rings you may not see them unless you zoom right in .... but if you know where they are you should be able to click to select one and look at the properties.

Are you importing Gerbers into EPC, - in which case you're on a hiding to nothing.

EPC ignores macros in Gerber files (both standard + Intelligent flavours).
