Is three any way to change the order of values? For the sake of neatness I like all my columns in a particular order, but sometimes I need an new column to be inserted.

The only way I've found so far is to export to csv, delete all values and value names, externally reorder the columns, and reimport. This is time consuming and risks lost data if I'm not careful.

Exporting to CSV, deleting and reimporting is what I'm doing at the moment.

Ah, of course! Sadly no way to do that at the moment, at least not without the risky business of stripping everything out and adding it again. That in itself may be easier if you use the export/import CSV option on the Values dialog, but it certainly isn't simple.

I have logged this as an enhancement request on our database, for consideration for inclusion in a future release.

Thanks for the reply, David.

I'm referring to the "Component Values" window for a design.

I don't add values to components in libraries at all as they are different for pretty much every design for me.

Mike,

The order of values can be managed on a particular Component if that is any help in what you are trying to do.

If you edit the Component in the library, and look at the Values tab, you will see there are buttons Up and Down that allow you to re-order the values on the component. When you then reload that component in the design, the order in which its values are displayed will be updated.

David.
